A few days from now, LGB New Yorkers will be deciding to vote yay or nay to Proposition 1 a; a controversial ballot measure in the sense no one really knows what the amendment will do if passed.
Here to my left, proponents of Proposition 1 aka The Equal Rights Amendment say a YES vote on Prop 1 will protect the right to abortion and prevent government discrimination in New York; while to my right, opponents claim Prop 1 will grant minors the right to obtain gender affirming care without parental consent and transgender(ed) people the constitutional right to access to women's spaces.
As I "noted" some weeks ago, "we' found no evidence the amendment seeks to infringe on "parent rights."
I/we have however can confirm the amendment does seek to enshrine gender-identity and gender expression into the state constitution.
Ah, but Nelson, Prop 1 would add new protected categories for sexual orientation:
Yes, it does, doesn't it?
So,you'll be voting YES on Prop 1, yes?
No, I will not.
As manager, owner, chapter leader/president of LGB Alliance New York City, I cannot support any bill, law or ballot measure that includes sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.
Last time I supported a bill that included both, I got screwed. Never again.
LGB Alliance New York City is NO on Prop 1.
Regarding Harris/Walz vs Trump/Vance; Despite the fact that Kamala Harris (and Tim Walz) are pro-transgender, ergo, advocates for the medicalization and sterilization of minors, many who are LGB by the way, and a fact that gets lost on many people including the LGBA community, LGBANYC endorses Kamala Harris for President.
Why Harris, not Trump? Simply put, Donald Trump is not fit to be President. He is as far as “we’re” concerned, an artificial reality; a moron who can't form a complete sentence, a man who can’t fathom anything resembling tact or appropriate behavior.
Case in point:

I’m supposed to vote for this man because he plays YMCA in his rallies and looks like he’s jerking two guys off at once?
I may be gay, but I’m sure as fuck not desperate.
I’m at loss as to how any gay or bi man can be turned on by this.
Any-who, this decision will no doubt anger and disappointed many gender-criticals
Yeah, and?
This anger and disappointment works both ways too, don’t you all know.
